James Corden is taking advice from Jimmy Fallon and Piers Morgan in preparation to host 'The Late Late Show'.

The 36-year-old presenter will take over the CBS 12.30am slot in March 2015 and revealed Jimmy has urged him to be himself when he takes over the slot from long-running host Craig Ferguson.

He explained: "He just said be yourself. He said you can be someone else once a week or twice a week, but five nights a week? You can't do it. The audience will know."

The comedian also took advice from former 'Piers Morgan Live' presenter and fellow Brit, Piers Morgan, who encouraged the star to not take criticism to heart because there will always be viewers who are not fans.

Recalling the advice, he told Shortlist magazine: "Piers just said, 'You need to be aware that this is a piece of TV real estate America has a lot of ownership over, so it'll be tough. People will come after you, but if you can stay strong and get through it, you'll have a blast.' "

Speaking about his vision for the programme, the 'Gavin & Stacey' actor confessed he has huge ambitions to create a show which will captivate viewers across the country, in the same way British entertainment show 'TFI Friday' did when it was broadcast during the 1990s.

He added: "I want to make a warm, silly, fun show that will hopefully talk to a generation in the US that may not have found what feels like 'their' show yet. I'd like people to think, 'I don't know what's going to happen tonight,' the way you and I used to when 'TFI Friday' was on.

"It wasn't about the guests; I watched it because I felt like part of the gang, you know?"
