Kathy Griffin paid tribute to her late "friend" Joan Rivers on her 'Fashion Police' debut on Monday.
The 53-year-old comedienne-and-actress has replaced Joan on the style critique TV show following her passing last September at the age of 81 and she took the opportunity to remember her sharp-tongued pal on her first episode.

Kathy said: "Before I start making more enemies and burning new bridges, I want to thank my good friend. Joan, I know you are watching from heaven, but I am not afraid to bring the hammer down on anyone."
Joined on the panel by regulars Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and newcomer, stylist and former reality star Brad Goreski, Kathy added: "We have a new set, new faces, but our mission remains the same."
Once she had made her sentimental statement, the quick-witted redhead wasted no time in dissecting the best and the worst of the red carpet outfits from the Golden Globe Awards, which took place on Sunday night (11.01.14).
Kathy was impressed with Jennifer Lopez's pale beige Zuhair Murad gown which left little to the imagination.
She said: "My inner gay boy just loves. I love the danger. I almost saw cooch. Sparkles, razzle-dazzle. This is what I live for - she looks like she's in a gladiator movie and playing the girlfriend."
Continuing her critique of J.Lo's outfit, she added: "(We want) class for some people, and for some people we want to see a near-miss of your vagina."
However, she wasn't impressed by Amal Clooney's decision to wear white gloves with her black dress, and fiercely mocked them.
Kathy said: "She had those gloves that reminded me of a prom scene.
When she said she made them herself, I said, 'Yeah, no s**t.'
"She used those bovine insemination gloves, but nobody gets a pass because you are married to George Clooney."
