Katy Perry is giving John Mayer "another chance".

The 30-year-old superstar recently decided to rekindle her romance with the singer-songwriter for the second time and has claimed there is "something there" when it comes to the couple's rocky relationship.

A source revealed: "Katy is giving John another chance because she feels like there could be something there."

The pair dated after the 'Dark Horse' hitmaker's divorce from comedian Russell Brand in 2012, but called an end to their romance in February 2014, shortly after releasing a duet titled 'Who You Love'.

The couple have been spotted together on several occasions in recent days, including at celebrity hotspot Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last weekend where they held hands and kissed.

However, friends of the multi-million selling artist are concerned she is jumping into things too quickly with the 37-year-old star following her split from producer Diplo at the end of 2014.

The source told RadarOnline: "Katy and John are back together.

"John pursued Katy relentlessly because it drove him crazy seeing her with Diplo.

"Although her friends have warned her to be careful, she is already ignoring all of the red flags.

"She is not listening to anyone and is going into this full force."

Despite the claims, Katy recently played down the rumours by saying she is not thinking about her love life and has focused all of her energy on preparing for her Super Bowl halftime show next month at which she will perform with Lenny Kravitz.

She said: "I think I am kind of a little boy crazy, like in my blood I always have been. Not crazy but just excited about men in general, but I think maybe this might be the first time in my life where I'll be like, I'm too focused to have any distractions. Too focused literally, I only really have a solid month to prepare."
