Jennifer Aniston wants to have children with Justin Theroux.

The 45-year-old actress admits she and 'The Leftovers' star, who she got engaged to in August 2012, are "doing our best" to start a family.

Asked if they are eager to have a baby, the 'Cake' star told The Hollywood Reporter: "Listen, that's a topic that's so exhausted. I get nervous around that, just because it's very personal. Who knows if it's going to happen? It's been a want. We're doing our best."

The actress recently admitted she has always felt a lot of pressure to start a family and hit back at suggestions she was too "career-driven" to have a baby.

She said: "I don't like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women - that you've failed yourself as a female because you haven't procreated. I don't think it's fair.

"You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn't mean you aren't mothering - dogs, friends, friends' children.

"This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself; that I don't want to be a mother, and how selfish that is."

Jennifer previously had an estranged relationship with her own mother, Nancy Dow, and now admits she was very critical of her growing up.

She said: "She was critical. She was very critical of me. Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn't. I never was. I honestly still don't think of myself in that sort of light, which is fine.

"She was also very unforgiving. She would hold grudges that I just found so petty."
