Jude Law is expecting a girl with his ex-partner.

The 42-year-old actor's ex Catherine Harding is around eight months pregnant with his fifth child, who appears to be a daughter as one image of his former flame's baby shower featured a pink and yellow cake complete with a pair of pink booties on the top and a star decorated with the message: "It's a girl."

Catherine - who is also known by her stage name Cat Cavelli - can be seen cradling her baby bump in a group shot from her "belly party" posted online by one of her friends who attended the bash.

The raven-haired beauty, 23, also took to Twitter to post a picture of herself with some of her pals at the baby bash.

She captioned the image: "Love these girlies and the rest :) thankyou for such a lovely weekend xx (sic)"

Jude - who has three children, sons Rafferty, 18, and Rudy, 12, and daughter Iris, 13, with his ex-wife Sadie Frost, is step-father to her 24-year-old son Finlay, and also has a five-year-old daughter, Sophia, with model Samantha Burke – recently admitted he is "happy" to be expecting a fifth child.

He said: "There's always sensing the presence of age. I've done 57 films. Looking back, I can't believe I'm still working and maintaining my position.

"But I'm a happy man these days. Four children, another on the way.

"My 18 year old's in the business. My 24 year old, a gifted musician on piano and guitar, studies music in college. They're my bedrock."

The 'Dom Hemingway' star - who was married to Sadie from 1997 to 2003 - announced in October last year that he was to be a father for the fifth time but confirmed he had split from Catherine.

A spokesman for the actor said: "I can confirm that Jude Law and Catherine Harding are expecting a child together in the spring.

"Whilst they are no longer in a relationship, they are both wholeheartedly committed to raising their child.

"They consider this a private matter and other than this confirmation no statement will be made.

"I ask that you respect the privacy of all parties involved and their families."
