David Beckham's daughter thinks he's "chubby".

The 39-year-old star - who retired from football in May 2013 - has joked he has now got a complex about his weight after three-year-old Harper informed her father she didn't think he was looking his best these days.

During an appearance on chat show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' the host joked that the H&M model wasn't looking that great, and he replied: "Funny you should say that. My little girl turned around to me the other day - I had just bathed her and I was towelling her down, and she said, 'Daddy I love you so much. But I don't like you, you're so chubby.'

    "I mean, I didn't think I was."

David - who also has sons Brooklyn, 15, Rome, 12, and nine-year-old Cruz with wife Victoria Beckham - joked he has become a "taxi driver overnight" since retiring from playing football but insists he loves taking his kids to school in the morning and particularly enjoys embarrassing his boys.

He added: "The younger one obviously loves me taking her to school. The two smaller boys, they love it, apart from my middle son Romeo.

"He's 12 and he's just started. As soon as I take him into school I go to kiss him and he turns his cheek, so I will then pick him up and give him a bear hug and kiss him in front of his friends.

"My eldest Brooklyn, who is 16 in March, he says, 'Dad, park around the corner.' And then he gets out and walks around the corner.

"He did it to me the other day after doing it five times on the trot, so I'm driving round and he's just walking into school, and I open the window and go, 'Brooklyn, I love you.' Obviously it didn't go down so well.

"Victoria did have to remind them the other day that actually they've got quite a cool dad, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference."
