Lindsay Lohan served sandwiches and helped with a local radio station as part of her community service.

The 'Mean Girls' actress completed her court-ordered punishment while working in London and one of her duties involved dishing out food alongside jobless young volunteers at the Red Route Cafe in the east of the city, and she also assisted with the broadcaster.

The troubled actress enjoyed the experience and insisted the volunteers paid no attention to her star status.

She said: "The kids know me a bit now and treat me the same as everyone else. That is cool for me.

"In the past I got used to meeting people who would seem genuine but often would have other intentions. There is less of that for me here now."

The cafe is run by Community Service Volunteers (CSV), and documents they have submitted also revealed the actress received credit for hosting five, three-hour meet-and-greets following her performances in stage show 'Speed-the-Plow'.

The organisation claims the 28-year-old beauty helped motivate other young people from the Theatre of Volunteers as a "reward", provided tickets to her play and offered opportunities to meet her to "talk about their volunteering, and what they are gaining from it."

Her supervisor added: "In order to continue to motivate volunteers it is important to be able to offer rewards that are not monetary. This kind of event is an ideal and unique opportunity for this and means a lot to the people involved."

Judge Richard Stone has given Santa Monica Chief Deputy City Attorney Terry White permission to review the star's volunteer work after he raised concerns about whether she really completed the 240 hours she was required to do as part of her probation following a reckless driving offense in 2012.

The 'Machete' star claims to have completed 80 hours of volunteer work in just nine days, despite treatment for Chikungunya, a debilitating, untreatable virus caused by mosquito bites, and ended up in hospital.

Another hearing will take place on February 18.
