Kate Bosworth fell in love with Michael Polish at first sight.

The 32-year-old actress, who married the 44-year-old director in a low-key ceremony at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana in August 2013, claims she knew he was "the one" from the first moment they met.

The 'Still Alice' star said: "It hit me, at about a million miles an hour--I almost fell off my chair. They always say, 'You know when you know,' and I had found that quite frustrating my whole life. I thought, yeah, but how do you really know? But it's true - he walked in and it hit me, like nothing I'd ever felt before. Meeting Michael honestly felt like coming home. It feels comfortable and secure and also exciting."

The couple met on the set of 'Big Sur' in 2011 but only started dating afterward they completed filming.

The blonde beauty told the March issue of Marie Claire magazine: "There are so many people that hook up on movies, and you wonder if that's real, so we didn't go there. I think we were both experienced to know that if this was the real deal, we could wait to see what would happen."

Kate, who previously dated Orlando Bloom and Alexander Skarsgard, admits she always wanted to settle down and is equally besotted with Michael's 16-year-old daughter Jasper from a previous relationship.

She said: "I've never dated a hundred different guys. I've always had that desire to find my match in this life. If you had said to me at 25 that in just a couple of years I was going to be a stepmother, I never would have guessed. But because he was the right match for me--and so was Jasper--it felt totally effortless."
