Nicole Richie made her dad Lionel Richie get cupping treatment from a healer on her reality TV show.
The 33-year-old fashion designer invited her singer father to appear on a new upcoming episode of her VH1 programme 'Candidly Nicole' in which she made her dad try some new age therapies to improve his wellbeing, including the skin suction treatment which is supposed to improve blood flow and aid healing.

Explaining the motivation for the episode, she said: "He's getting older and I want him to take care of himself. I brought in my healer ... and we did some acupuncture on him and some cupping."
Nicole insists Lionel was more than happy to try out the unconventional treatment because he is such a fun and relaxed guy.
She added to PEOPLE: "My dad is a jokester like me. He really loves to laugh. He likes anybody to smile and if he's the butt of the joke that's going to make people laugh then he's fine with that, and I feel that I'm kind of the same way."
Nicole appears on the series with her husband Joel Madden - with whom she has two children, daughter Harlow, six, and son Sparrow, four - and some of her extended family members also make appearances, including Joel's brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Benji Madden who helps her sell a house in the second half of the second series.
She revealed: "Benji was on an episode where I discovered real estate and ... I kind of had the idea, if you're going to show somebody a house you need to have it be a real home. So I had different people in there just to make it feel very homey. I thought that Benj would be great for that so he was one of the people that was in the house while I was showing different people the house."
Benji recently married Cameron Diaz but Nicole isn't sure if her new sister-in-law will make an appearance on 'Candidly Nicole'.
When asked if the actress could feature in the programme, Nicole said: "I don't know who's going to be on the next season of my show."
