    One Direction are "over the moon" to be nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award.

    The 'Little Things' hitmakers are delighted to be contending for the Favourite Music Group Prize with Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5 and OneRepublic at the annual ceremony, which takes place on March 28 at The Forum in Los Angeles.


    The group's Niall Horan told Us Weekly: "We're over the moon to be nominated for Favorite Music Group at this year's Kids' Choice Awards!

    "Thank you to Nickelodeon and of course to our incredible fans."

    Meanwhile, the Favourite Song of the Year category features only female contenders, with 'All About That Bass' by Meghan Trainor, 'Bang Bang' by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, & Nicki Minaj, 'Dark Horse' by Katy Perry' 'Fancy' by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX, 'Problem' by Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea, and 'Shake It Off' by Taylor Swift all in the running for the prize.

    Taylor, Ariana, Nicki and Katy have also earned nominations for Favourite Female Singer, which they will contest alongside Beyonce and Selena Gomez.

    The ceremony's host, Nick Jonas, has also been nominated for an award.

    The 'Jealous' hitmaker faces competition in the Favourite Male Singer category from Blake Shelton, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith.

    The final category to have its nominees announced so far is Favourite New Artist.

    Three of the Favourite Song of the Year nominees, Jessie, Iggy and Meghan are up for this prize alongside Five Seconds of Summer, Echosmith and Fifth Harmony.

    Meghan is thrilled to be nominated in the fan-voted awards.

    She said: "I watched the Kids' Choice Awards every year growing up. I am so excited to be nominated for the first time and I can't wait to see you all there."
