Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' contract will be auctioned off.

The official agreement between Michael Jackson's Optimum Productions and the Screen Actors Guild for the single's 13-minute video was signed by the late icon in Los Angeles on October 10 1983 and will be auctioned online on February 26.

The document is being sold by Nate D. Sanders Auctions based in Los Angeles, and comes with a document from the US Copyright Office from December 1983 to certify its authenticity.

Bidding for the contract, which covers payment and SAG requirements for 24 actors will begin at $25,000 (£16,183), with other items in the auction including a Christmas card signed by Sir Mick Jagger, and various items of clothing from Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Cher and Fergie.

The ground-breaking video for 'Thriller' was filmed in Los Angeles in October 1983 and directed by John Landis and featured model Ola Ray.

The promo cost $500,000 to make, and won the Best Video Album Grammy Award in 1984 and the Best Long Form Music Video accolade at the following year's ceremony.

In 2009, the singer - who passed away from cardiac arrest in the same year - became the first musician to be celebrated by the Library of Congress when they inducted the 'Thriller' clip into the National Film Registry.
