Taylor Kinney proposed to Lady Gaga with an edible ring.

The 33-year-old actor popped the question on Valentine's Day and couldn't resist playing a prank on the 'Applause' hitmaker, who was overcome with emotion even with the fake jewellery.

Gaga said: "First he gave me a Ring Pop. That was kind of amazing and I was crying, I was so excited.

"I said, 'Yes!' right away and then he pulled out the heart-shaped diamond. First it was candy. I was happy with the candy.

And the smitten singer, 28, admitted being engaged has made "everything better".

She gushed to 'Access Hollywood': "It makes everything better. When you're in love and have love it makes everything better."

Fans wanting to catch a glimpse of Gaga's stunning engagement ring at last night's (22.02.15) Oscars were left disappointed as she

teamed her custom-made Azzedine Alaïa gown with red gloves, but insisted it wasn't a deliberate move to hide the jewellery.

She explained: "Mr. Alaïa designed the gloves before we got engaged and I wanted to keep the look exactly as he envisioned it."

The 'Born This Way' hitmaker is excited about her engagement but hasn't yet begun planning her wedding to the 'Chicago Fire' star as she had been too busy preparing for the Oscars, at which she performed a medley of songs from 'The Sound of Music' in honour of the 50th anniversary of the classic musical.

She told 'Extra': "You know we haven't even begun to talk about the wedding, I've been so focused on the Oscars and this performance, I really put my heart into this tribute performance."
