Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have "struggled" to find the balance between their careers and personal lives.

The couple have been married for 17 years and have children Jaden, 16, and Willow, 14, together but they admit their strong relationship has suffered slightly in the past because of their fame.

When asked how he divides his time between work and his personal life, Will, 46, told US Magazine: "Now that's really interesting. Jada and I have struggled with that a little bit ... The problem is one person is in work mode while the other person is in chill mode. Then it's like you're both trying to come up."

However, the 'Pursuit of Happyness' star, who also has 22-year-old son Trey from his previous marriage, insists it's something you learn to adapt to and work around over time.

He explained: "It is really something that will happen in time and you'll realise that you're either really committed to having a relationship, or you're really committed to coming up. At some point one or the other is going to have to suffer."

Meanwhile, despite their troubles in the past, the couple looked very much in love as they walked the red carpet for the hunk's new movie 'Focus' in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

An eye witness told the publication that the 43-year-old actress "glowed" as her husband leaned down to kiss her.

The observer added: "They looked at each other and smiled. [They] complemented each other well."
