Kelly Clarkson doesn't mind if her daughter is gay.

The 'Heartbeat Song' hitmaker has admitted eight-month-old River Rose's sexual orientation isn't an issue for her and all she wants is for the little one to find love when she's older.

Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', she said: "I just hope [River Rose] finds love. It took me a while, man. And there was a lot of heartache throughout those years.

"You know, as long as she's happy, I don't care either way, and neither does my husband. And we have two other kids as well, and we don't care either way for all of them."

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old singer recently revealed she never wanted to have children until she met her husband Brandon Blackstock through her manager in 2012.

She said previously: "I'm very much a gypsy at heart, and I just didn't think I would find someone who understood that about me. And it's a very selfless thing to be a parent, and my line of work can be a very selfish thing. I didn't want to bring someone into this world and screw them up.

"My whole life took a big 180. I know it sounds cheesy, but I've never felt how I feel about Brandon. We're honestly best friends."

And the bond she'd developed with her stepchildren Savannah, 13, and Seth, eight - Brandon's children from a previous marriage - made her want to have a baby even more.

She said: "I didn't realise how much I would love (being a mum). I love going to games, I love the homework. I love the challenge of helping mould someone's life."
