    Taylor Swift is to be godmother to Jaime King's baby.

    The 25-year-old singer took to her Instagram account to reveal her actress friend has asked her to be godmother to her and husband Kyle Newman's impending child, and the 'Style' hitmaker was more than happy to accept the offer.


    Announcing the news, Taylor posted a picture of herself knelt down with her hands placed on Jaime's baby bump, while the 'Hart of Dixie' star is stood up with a huge grin on her face.

    She captioned the image: "Guess who just got named Godmother of this little one..... (ME) (sic)"

    The 35-year-old actress also shared an image on the social networking site of her stood up facing the camera and pulling up her top to reveal her baby bump, while Taylor has her head on Jaime's shoulder looking down at her unborn child.

    Jaime - who also has 16-month-old son James with Kyle - wrote: "And @taylorswift will forever be looking over our new baby @kyle_newman -we all love you!!!! Xx (sic)"

    The actress also used Instagram to announce she and Kyle were expecting their second together earlier this month by posting a photograph of James blowing bubbles while holding a sign which read: "I'm gonna be a big brother! Who da boss now I'm so excited!!!! (sic).."

    Taylor recently revealed her and Jaime - who married Kyle in November 2007 after meeting on the set of movie 'Fanboys' in 2005 - love to get a Chinese takeaway when they are hanging out together.

    She said: "Jaime King and I will sit around and talk and cook or just order in Chinese food.

    "My group of friends are the most important thing to me right now. they are so fun and know me and like me for who I actually am."
