Cheryl Fernandez-Versini keeps her personal life private for her own "sanity"

The 'Only Human' hitmaker - who tied the knot with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony last July - was "so open" during her previous marriage to Ashley Cole that she is doing everything to avoid the same happening again.

She said: "I have to have something that’s for me.

"I’m aware that everybody wants to know what the eff is going on, but I’m not going to say anything, for my sanity."

Despite her endeavours, her personal life is regularly the subject of discussion and whilst she wouldn't discuss her nuptials specifically, the 31-year-old singer did comment on marriage in general.

She said: "You hear so many stories, don’t you? People who have known each other two weeks and they’re together for 75 years, people who have been together six months and they break up. So there’s no right or wrong."

When asked about rumours she was pregnant, she refused to address them, simply stating: "It’s good, it’s a good time in my life."

Although she wants to keep her relationship out of the headlines, the brunette beauty certainly didn't mince her words when it came to discussing the music industry, branding it as "f***ed up".

When asked if it is better for woman in music now, she told the Daily Telegraph's Stella magazine: "No. I think it’s kind of the same, if not worse. The majority of [the business] is men.

"The music industry is f***ed to be honest with you. With streaming and the internet, and you can buy singles now instead of an album, a body of work. It’s a different world to the one it was 13 years ago."
