Mr. T is to host a new home improvement show called 'I Pity The Tool'

It has been revealed the 62-year-old star is to front the new makeover series for the DIY Network and the programme takes its name from his famous catchphrase "I pity the fool".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. T and his team - which includes HGTV Design Star winner and interior designer Tiffany Brooks - travel to a different family's home in each episode and rip out their unwanted rooms and create new spaces with the decorating and building skills.

The show - produced by The Michael Group - was given a straight-to-series deal by the DIY Network and will air later this year.

It is the latest in a line of celebrity-fronted renovation shows aired on the DIY Network, the others include 'The Vanilla Ice Project', 'The Shatner Project' - starring former 'Star Trek' actor William Shatner' - and 'Rev Run's Renovation', featuring Run DMC rapper Rev Run.

The new project is Mr. T's latest foray into reality TV.

He previously starred in 'I Pity The Fool' in which he travelled around America giving advice to people and highlighting the importance of teamwork, while on 'World's Craziest Fools' for BBC Three he showed clips of people's stupid actions and accidents.

Mr. T is most famous for his acting roles as B.A. Baracus in the 80s TV series 'The A-Team' and as boxer Clubber Lang in the movie 'Rocky III', in which he starred opposite Sylvester Stallone.

Mr. T also previous competed as a wrestler for WWE and is an inductee in the celebrity wing of the company's Hall of Fame.
