Katy Perry and John Mayer are "over for good"

The on-again off-again couple rekindled their turbulent relationship earlier this year but it seems their reconciliation was short-lived as the 37-year-old singer has reportedly been telling his friends he doesn't want to work through their issues anymore.

A source told E! News that John has been telling pals that they are "over for good and their latest breakup was not caused by Katy being on tour but rather a "lack of emotional interest on his end."

The pair - who first started dating in 2012 - sparked rumours they had patched things up between them when they were spotted at a friend's dinner party together in Los Angeles in January.

A few weeks later, they were seen enjoying a romantic meal at Sunset Tower Hotel and then drove to Chateau Marmont for a few alcoholic beverages with friends, including Allison Williams.

A source said at the time: "They seemed very comfortable together and kissed several times. It was a cold night and they held hands and John pulled her in close when she got cold."

However, speculation that the duo had called time on their relationship once again began to swirl earlier this month when Katy, 30, reportedly "hooked up" with Mumford and Son's Winston Marshall, 26, in Berlin, Germany.

The 'Roar' hitmaker was spotted getting close to the British rocker at the nightclub Schwuz following her concert at the O2 Arena.
