Renée Zellweger is "very happy" with Doyle Bramhall II

The 45-year-old actress, who has been dating the guitarist for more than two years, says she is still smitten and thinks he is "a very sweet man."

Asked about their relationship, the Oscar winner told PEOPLE.com: "Isn't he cute? He's a very sweet man. I'm very, very happy right now.

    "I'm great. I'm busy. I'm happy."

While the couple only started dating in 2013, they have been friends since they were students at the University of Texas, Austin in the 1990s.

A source previously said: "Renee was ecstatic about finding love again with an old friend. She knew Doyle's a good, solid guy, and she easily imagined starting a family with him."

The couple were on hand to support Renée's publicist Nanci Ryder, who was diagnosed with ALS nine months ago, at the ALS Association Golden West Chapter's annual One Starry Night benefit in Los Angeles on Monday night (20.04.15).

Speaking at the event, the actress said: "It wasn't hard to throw on a pair of shoes for this one. As a person who loves someone who is living with ALS, I'm happy to be here among so many of you who understand what that diagnosis means.

"We've learned that living with ALS does not mean being defined by the disease. She's a beautiful example of that. Her spirit is as vivacious as ever."
