Clint Eastwood thinks his son is "doing much better" than him in the dating department

The legendary film director - who is in a relationship with Christina Sandera - has joked that his son Scott has better luck with the ladies than he does.

He said: "I've seen him with a couple of the dates he's had recently, and he's doing much better than me."

The 84-year-old star is looking forward to see his son star in 'The Longest Ride' and has promised he won't make too many comments about the performance.

Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, he added: "I'll see if he's a chip off the old block. I'll probably try not to say too much one way or the other. He seems to be doing fine without me."

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old actor previously admitted he felt as though his surname became a hindrance for him when joining the film industry because people didn't take him seriously.

He said: "I had a couple of auditions and things here and there and said, 'Maybe I'll give this a shot and see how it works out.' I lived in LA for eight years, but I was never the cool kid and I ended up moving away because a lot of people didn't take me seriously as an actor because of my name.

"In some ways it was harder for me than for other actors because there was a lot of, 'Well he's Clint Eastwood's son so yeah, sure he's successful'. But I've been working for 12 years and I'm still around, so that must tell you something."
