Christina Hendricks appears on 'Sesame Street' to teach kids about the importance of technology

The 'Mad Men' actress clutched a laptop and a cell phone as she stood alongside Elmo the puppet to present a segment to children on the various uses and benefits of gadgets and the Internet for kids.

In one clip from the educational TV show, Christina, 40, said: "If I need to look up stuff about bugs, a laptop computer is a tool that helps me do it ... and if I need to video chat with my nana and pop pop, a cell phone lets me do it"

Elmo and the famous red-head then chimed together: "So a cell phone is technology!"

People reacted on Twitter by posting the video of Christina with Elmo, pointing out that her previous character on the television series - Joan Holloway - would have favoured a typewriter and notepad and pen to the devices she was talking about on 'Sesame Street'.

Christina is the latest in a long line of celebrities to appear on the TV show, other stars to feature on the programme include Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg.
