Bruce Jenner is reportedly taking advice from Cher and Chaz Bono about his gender transition

The 65-year-old former Olympian recently confirmed his intention to transition into a women and it's been claimed he's turned to his close friends Cher, 69, and Chaz Bono, 46, for support during the process.

A source explained: "Bruce has been speaking with Cher and Chaz all through his gender transformation.

"He and Cher have remained firm friends for decades. She was happy to help, having found peace now with Chaz's own transformation, and completely understands what Bruce is going through. It did take some adapting, since she knew Bruce as the strapping athlete, but she offered some friendly advice."

Chaz - the only child of Sonny and Cher - underwent a female-to-male gender transition between 2008 and 2010, and has proven to be a particularly useful source of advice for Bruce.

The insider told HollywoodLife.com: "Cher also got Chaz to talk to Bruce about his own gender transformation experiences, especially the media scrutiny that followed him after.

"It really helped put Bruce's mind at ease, and knowing he has the full support of his family and friends now is starting to make him feel more confident about himself."
