Bruce Jenner watched 'Transparent' while deciding to having a sex change

The hit Amazon show - which starred Jeffrey Tambor as a transgender parent - had a very strong effect on the 65-year-old former Olympian, according to the show's creator Jill Soloway.

Jill said: "I met Kim Kardashian and she told me (all the Kardashians) watched it and loved it. I know Bruce watched it."

The 'Transparent' writer - whose father came out as transgender in

2011 - went on to to speak about how proud she felt that her programme had allowed Bruce to "come out" and be "an American hero for the second time".

Speaking to People, she said: "Knowing that 'Transparent' helped Bruce to see a family where somebody came out and everybody survived, my first phone call was to my parent to say, 'Look what your bravery did.

Your bravery allowed me to tell this story. And this story allowed this person to come out. This person who is an American hero, and who is now an American hero for the second time. And who happens to be the patriarch of the most famous family on the planet.'"

While most of the Kardashian and Jenner clan have come to terms with their father's decision to go through a gender transition, Kylie Jenner has reportedly stated she wants to quit 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' due to feeling 'blindsided' by his choice.

A source previously said: "She has no interest in being a part of the series any more. The entire experience with Bruce has made her realise it's time to leave. Bruce felt he'd waited long enough to open up and transform the way he wanted, but Kylie wasn't ready and feels blindsided."
