Katie Holmes loves being surrounded by books

The 36-year-old actress - who has nine-year-old Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise - finds it easy to switch off from work as she keeps her personal and professional lives separate, and is at her most relaxed when absorbed in a novel.

She said: "I don't take my work home with me. We're just playing characters so I do my work and then I go home and live my life.

"I love reading books, which makes me feel very peaceful and happy. A room full of books is one of the most peaceful places to be."

Katie has most recently been shooting US crime drama 'Ray Donovan' and struggled with the character because of a mouthpiece she had to wear.

She explained: "I have a role in the new season of 'Ray Donovan', playing the daughter of a very wealthy family who is sort of a femme fatale.

"She wears braces on her teeth, which I'm always messing up with because they're always falling out."

The brunette beauty is also said to portray Jacqueline Kennedy again in 'The Kennedys After Camelot' and was thrilled to return to play the woman she first played in 2012's 'The Kennedys'.

She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "This time around it's more Jackie's story after Jack died, when she married Aristotle Onassis and when she moved to New York to work in publishing.

"I'm very excited because I loved playing her before. She was an incredible person and an incredible First Lady who brought such glamour to the White House."
