Katy Perry has "no shame in being a boss"

The 'Dark Horse' hitmaker - who was named by Forbes as the highest-earning female celebrity of 2015 - has shared an inspirational message to other women, insisting it is important to know you can share your successes without feeling like you're bragging.

Captioning a photograph of the magazine cover, Katy wrote: "Before accepting the offer to be on the cover of Forbes, I was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it. I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn't a humble decision.

"Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it's okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss."

Topping the Forbes 2015 World's Highest-Paid Celebrities list are boxers Floyd Mayweather, who earned $300 million and Manny Pacquiao, who brought home $160 million. Katy is placed third on the list whilst boy band One Direction take fourth place, earning $5 million less than Katy, $130 million.

Other celebrities making the top 10 include Garth Brooks, Robert Downey Jr. and Taylor Swift.
