Chris Pratt thinks it's important to be "honest" but also to "protect" Anna Faris

The 'Jurassic World' actor always tries to be truthful to his wife, but wouldn't deliberately hurt her feelings.

He said: "Honesty is the best policy, but being mindful of someone's feelings is also very important.

"It's not OK to lie, but it is OK to protect your partner. And understanding the difference requires wisdom."

And the 36-year-old actor - who has two-year-old son Jack with his wife - admitted he prefers women to wear make-up than go barefaced.

Asked which he prefers, he said: "Make-up. I'm supposed to say natural, but I like it when a girl gets made up."

The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star believes he and his 38-year-old wife are very similar - joking they share big egos and "abnormally high" self-esteem.

Asked if opposites attract, he told Women's Health magazine: "Well, scientifically it's a fact, because you can look at the polarity of the water molecule and the capillary action of ice and water.

"It can be true in real life, too, but I don't think it's a rule. If you're like Anna and myself, we're very similar. We married ourselves because we have comparable egos and abnormally high self-esteem."

Despite their superstar status, Chris insists he and Anna lead very "boring" lives and if they were chronicled on a reality show, which he would call 'Hollywood Squares', he doesn't think it would make compelling viewing.

He said: "It'd be a throwback to the old game show, except instead of us playing tic-tac-toe and answering pop-culture trivia questions, we would just sit around and watch 'The Bachelor' and make meals. It would be super boring."
