'Game of Thrones' leads nominations for 67th Primetime Emmy Awards with a staggering 24 nods

As 'Game of Thrones' has an ensemble cast, it didn't have any nominations in the Lead Actor or Actress categories, but stars Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke are up for supporting role prizes.

Elsewhere, 'The Big Bang Theory' was a surprise omission from the Outstanding Comedy Series category, leaving 'Louie', 'Modern Family', 'Parks and Recreation', 'Silicon Valley', 'Transparent', 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' and 'Veep' to fight it out for the prize.

The nominations were announced today (16.07.15) by Cat Deeley and Uzo Aduba, and both stars are also in the running for awards.

Cat is up for 'Outstanding Host of a Reality or Reality Competition Program' for her presenting of 'So You Think You Can Dance' - which is also up for Outstanding Reality Competition Program - while Uzo is in the running for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Andy Samberg will host the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 20.
