Triple H believes the WWE Divas can headline 'WrestleMania'

The WWE ex ecutive Vice President - real name Paul Levesque - has been instrumental in shining the spotlight on the women wrestlers in the company and played a key role in the development of 'NXT' stars Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch who are now all competing on WWE's flagship TV show 'RAW'.

Triple H admits he feels like a "proud dad" when he sees the trio of girls all doing so well in the ring and envisages a day when female competitors top the bill at the annual wrestling extravaganza for the first time.

Speaking about the Divas revolution currently taking place, he said: "It's awesome, watching them coming up, Sasha, Charlotte and Becky and that whole movement, you know in some ways I feel like a proud dad. Watching these kids go from just raw clay and then all of a sudden here they are getting it and getting called up and getting recognised in the biggest way possible. I believe that we put out an opportunity for the girls to perform at that level they had never done before and they excelled at it and it sort of paradigm shifted the business ... If you ask Sasha or Charlotte right now, they will tell you their goal is to main event 'WrestleMania'. Point blank, no thought about it like it's not possible, that's just it. I think their belief system has changed in how they look at it. We've instilled it in them, it's what they want to do, and I think that's step one in making it happen. Knowing them and knowing their drive and their passion for this, I don't doubt it will happen at all, I really don't.

Triple H believes the success of the 'NXT' television programme and the impact the women wrestlers from that show have made on 'RAW' will inspire the 'Total Divas' stars such as twin sisters Brie and Nikki Bella - the latter being the WWE Divas Champion - Natalya and Naomi to raise their game.

Speaking about the 'NXT' girls, he said: "Their level of performance that's on them, they were the ones that did it, all of them and the current Divas that are in the WWE main roster, it's not to take anything away from the other Divas, but they're (the 'NXT' girls) now just as big a part of that as well. It's exciting. I look forward to those girls main eventing stuff and being as big a part of this business as anybody else."

Triple H was speaking to promote 'NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn' which takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, this Saturday (22.08.15) and will air in the early hours of Sunday morning (23.08.15) on the WWE Network.

The event takes place the night before 'SummerSlam' which can be viewed on Sky Sports Box Office and the WWE Network in the early hours on Monday morning (24.08.15).
