Michael Eavis says Miley Cryus has "a place" at Glastonbury.

The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker has reportedly been in talks about appearing at the world famous festival in 2016 and although the organiser won't confirm whether she has been approached or not, he insists she'd definitely fit the bill and is an artist he's interested in.

In an interview with the newly launched Loaded website (loaded.co.uk), Michael said: "People keep asking me if Miley Cyrus is playing. I can't say 'Yes' or 'No' to any name, because it only adds to the speculation about who will be appearing. But I think everyone has a place at Glastonbury. We have 20 different stages at Glastonbury, and that's one of the things that helps make it the greatest show on earth. We've had Kanye West, Beyoncé, Metallica and Jay Z headline Glastonbury, and that's shown that everyone is welcome."

Miley, 22, who is currently planning to play a naked concert with her friend Wayne Coyne - a veteran of Glastonbury with his band The Flaming Lips - and would be sure to bring excitement and controversy to the event in Worthy Farm, Somerset, South West England.

Although he's interested in Miley, Michael delegated the responsibility of booking acts to his daughter Emily Eavis and her husband Nick Dewey - who manages The Chemical Brothers and Hot Chip - several years ago and admits he's always under strict instructions from her to reveal any of the acts booked for next year's festival or beyond.

He said: "Emily always tells me when I'm talking to the press, 'No names. Whatever you do, don't say any names to anyone.' "

But Michael has revealed the six Pyramid Stage headliners for 2016 and 2017 have already been secured and will feature four acts who have played the festival before.

He said: "Four are artists who have played Glastonbury before, and two are new names."

Among the acts rumoured to be in the running to headline next year include Coldplay, The Stone Roses, Adele, Radiohead and Muse.
