    Little Mix "grafted for years".

The 'Love Me Like You' hitmakers have slammed their critics, who claimed the band's career was wrongly propelled by talent show 'The X Factor', which they won in 2011.

When one critic wrote: "Back in my day TFI Friday was cool. Little Mix wouldn't have been allowed in the building," Jade Thirlwall instantly replied: "there's been many pop acts on over the years before so firstly you're wrong about that one (sic)"

However, another Twitter user jumped in to slam the girl group over claims they don't write their own music.

To which Jade replied: "never said that. We write and co write our music, n when a hit like BlackMagic comes in of course we'll take it. we've written on every single, bar the last two, and not 'sat in the room' or 'done one line' WRITTEN.

"And for years I did the clubs, pubs, busked, was signed before, trying to make it.Nothin wrong using a big platform. so take ur uneducated opinions, start a band, write music, graft for years n see how far it gets you two arseholes. all the best, xxjadexx"

Later on, bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock took to the microblogging site to praise Jade's tweets.

She wrote: "Just read back tweets from that arrogant fool that jade DESTROYED!!! jade I love you! Good on you for not taking his [s**t] X Leigh (sic)"
