Gigi Hadid is allegedly being blackmailed by hackers.

The Victoria's Secret Angel has reportedly hired a private investigator and sought legal advice after cyber criminals managed to gain access to her iCloud account - an online storage system - and have threatened to leak her personal videos and photographs unless she pays them money.

However, the 20-year-old model is refusing to fork out any cash and is determined to stop the criminals in their tracks with the help of law enforcement officers, according to TMZ.

The alleged online crime comes just over a year after Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and a number of other female celebrities had their accounts hacked and explicit photographs of them were leaked across the internet.

At the time of the incident in 2014, Jennifer, 24, branded the hacking a "sex crime" after her nude shots ended up on the image-based message board 4Chan.

She said: "It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting.

"The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these Websites are responsible.

"Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it.

"It's so beyond me. I just can't imagine being that detached from humanity. I can't imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."

Other stars who had their privacy violated through the hacking scandal includes Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba.
