Sam Smith is still being bombarded with 'Star Wars' gifts since he bought himself a life-size Ewok - but has confessed he hasn't seen all the films in the sci-fi franchise.

The 23-year-old singer has been gifted several of the cuddly aliens and met fans dressed as their favourite 'Star Wars' characters while in Japan ever since he posted a photo of himself buying a Wicket toy on his Instagram account.

Sam wants to let his admirers across the rest of the world know he's not a fanatic about the intergalactic series and hasn't even watched all six movies in a bid to stop them giving him 'Star Wars' related presents.

Posting on Twitter, he revealed: "Just for the record - I'm not a huge Star Wars fan haha I just love ewoks haha x I need to watch all the films for sure thou x (sic)"

Revealing he'd met on fan dressed as Chewbacca and another in a C-3PO droid mask, he added: "Going to miss my Japanese fans!! So amazing haha. The guy on the rights name is 'YAS' - best name ever!!!! YAS YAS YAS YAS (sic)"

If Sam wants to make sure his 'Star Wars' knowledge is up-to-date in time for the release of the new film 'The Force Awakens' he has a few weeks as the movie isn't released worldwide until December 18.

The movie is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher among others.
