Paul Walker's father is suing Porsche over the crash which took his son's life.

Paul William Walker III has filed a lawsuit against the luxury car company for wrongful death and negligence following the tragic incident in Santa Clarita, California, in 2013, in which Walker's pal Roger Rodas lost control of a Porsche Carrera GT they were travelling in and crashed into a tree.

In the lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday and obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the late actor's dad claims the car lacked safety features.

He also claims Porsche knew that model had a history of instability.

Walker III is seeking unspecified damages for the incident.

Both Walker, who was in the passenger seat, and Rodas died in the crash.

This comes a week after Porsche hit back at a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the former 'Fast and Furious' actor's daughter Meadow, 16.

The company claimed Walker was "a knowledgeable and sophisticated user of the 2005 Carrera GT", and the organisation is said to be convinced the vehicle Rodas and Walker were travelling in had been "abused and altered, and was misused and improperly maintained".

Meadow filed a lawsuit against the company two months ago as she believes the car wouldn't have spun out of control if it had a substantial stabilisation system.

She also disputed law enforcement's assertion that the crash was caused by speeding, with Roger driving between 80 to 93mph, as she claims his actual speed was between 63 and 71mph.

Meadow's lawsuit claimed a "defective" seat belt prevented Walker from escaping the crash after the safety feature "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis" and left him trapped.
