Kanye West wants to "act like a family man".

The 38-year-old rapper - who has daughter North, two, and son Saint, eight weeks, with wife Kim Kardashian West - lashed out on Twitter last week when he mistakenly thought Wiz Khalifa was talking about his wife, and he did so because he will always defend his loved ones.

However, Kanye - who was criticised by his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose for mentioning her and Wiz's son Sebastian, two, in his rant - admitted he is pleased to have now cleared the air with his rival.

He said: "We chopped it up, squashed it. For people who felt a way about the kids comment, I didn't mean it in a harmful way. I just saw my wife's initial and I reacted, cause that's my family. People be thinkin'... [Kim] is open season. That's the mother of my kid! And I'm 'Ye. I don't want to act like I'm the toughest... but I want to act like a family man... It was great to have closure, it was great to just talk and build."

Earlier this week, Amber and Kim shocked fans when they posted a selfie together, and Kanye confirmed the picture was genuine.

He told Los Angeles radio station Real 92.3: "That is a real picture. They were at Kris' house."

The 'Bound 2' hitmaker initially lashed out at Wiz after he criticised one of his proposed album titles 'Swish', and then wrote: "Hit this kk and become yourself (sic)"

Kanye assumed "kk" referred to his wife, but Wiz later insisted he was referring to a strain of marijuana.
