George Shelley is "very very happy" after opening up about his sexuality.

In an honest video the Union J star told fans he is bisexual and has taken to Instagram to post a sweet message to thank everyone for their kind words.

He wrote on Instagram: "I am very very happy today #PositiveVibes #ThankYou (sic)"

The 21-year-old singer has been inundated by messages from his friends and bandmates since he posted the video online.

Jaymi Hensley, who is part of the 'You Got It All' group, wrote on Twitter: "Obviously you support for George is very close to my heart! I couldn't be prouder of how he has shown such strength over this recently ... And you have never judged me because of who I choose to love so please show him the same love you showed me !...... Very proud. What can I say must be something they put it our waters !!! (sic)"

Whilst Ferne McCann, who appeared on 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here' with George, insists she is "so proud" of him.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning, she said: "I was with him the whole day before and to be honest he did seem a bit on edge ... we were working together and we spend the whole day, and we had a great day and I didn't realise he was doing this video but honestly, I am so proud of him and so supportive that he's done this."

Meanwhile, in the video, George insisted he didn't want to be labelled but has had both boyfriends and girlfriends in the past.

He shared: "I don't feel that I should hide anything, so ... I've been reading a lot of speculation online about whether I'm straight or gay or bi and it's all these labels. It's a little bit old fashioned and that's why I'm not going to label it myself.

"It's not something that I feel like I can label. I've had girlfriends that I've loved and that have been amazing periods of my life and I've also had boyfriends. I just want you to know that whether I decide to be with a girl next or be with a guy next it is because I love them, and it shouldn't be a big deal."
