Dierks Bentley admits it is "crazy" that he's getting his own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

The 40-year-old singer's stagewear, guitars, song manuscripts, photos and other personal souvenirs will go on display at the Nashville museum on March 4 and the 'Drunk on a Plane' hitmaker admits he never expected to receive such an honour.

He said: "It's crazy to be considered for something like this.

"Just being in the building as a visitor is humbling, but to actually be featured in one of the museum's exhibits is something I never would have believed if you'd suggested it back when I started chasing this dream."

As well as the 'Dierks Bentley: Every Mile a Memory' exhibit, Dierks will appear in person at the site's CMA Theater on March 12 to talk about his career and perform an acoustic set, which fans who are unable to get a ticket for can watch live on the museum's website.

The 'Somewhere On A Beach' singer's exhibit, which will feature until September 6 follows a string of other artists who have had their own collections displayed at the museum, including Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and his ACM Awards co-host Luke Bryan.

Dierks has a busy few months ahead, as his eighth album 'Black' is expected to be released soon, he will host the ACM Awards on April 3, and his US tour with Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard kicks off in May.
