Matthew Perry says there's a "45 per cent" chance of a 'Friends' reunion.

The 46-year-old actor played Chandler Bing in the sitcom for 10 years alongside Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, and has admitted the likelihood of a comeback is less than 50/50 because the writing team is wary of tarnishing the show's legacy.

Speaking about the possibility of the NBC programme returning, he said: "'Friends' ended because it was time for the show to end. We had done 10 years; 237 episodes and the stories were kind of finished.

"I don't think there is going to be a reunion. People talk about that all the time but I don't think that's going to happen, because we ended on such a high note that I don't want to risk doing something bad and ruining, tarnishing the image of it. I would say 45 per cent that it could happen. I think the actors would do it, I'm not sure that the writers would do it."

Perry is currently starring in his stage show 'The End of Longing' in London and LeBlanc is in the UK filming the new revamped series of motoring show 'Top Gear' and Perry is hoping to see his old friend soon.

Speaking on Magic FM Radio - the UK station on which he is hosting a show on Saturday afternoons - Perry said: "I haven't seen Matt yet. I want him to come to see the play though. I'm not sure if he's here now. But I love Matt LeBlanc. He's funny and great and sweet and nice."
