Mischa Barton is dating Artem Chigvintsev.

The former 'O.C.' actress was the second contestant eliminated from the latest season of 'Dancing With the Stars' but it seems she left a lasting impression on her professional partner as their relationship has now turned romantic.

The pair enjoyed their first "official date" at French restaurant The Little Door in Los Angeles after weeks of Artem, 33, pursuing the 30-year-old star.

A source told 'Entertainment Tonight': "They've been in touch after the show and care about each other but this is the first proper date.

"He is the reason she's looking happier recently. She has become giddy when talking about him and quite smitten with him.

"He's pursued her for a while, and she's coming around."

After enjoying an intimate dinner, the couple then moved on to Chateau Marmont, where Mischa introduced the dancer to some of her friends.

Though she hasn't commented on her new romance, Mischa shared a number of pictures of herself on Instagram last night.

Alongside one, she posted: "Sending you all love, light and laughter on this Wednesday night."

Another was simply captioned with a heart emoji and the words: "Good Night."

The actress previously admitted she didn't realise how hard she'd have to work on 'DWTS' but had still had a great time.

She said: "It was definitely, maybe more than I had bargained for in a lot of ways.

"But I'm so happy I tried something that's that foreign to me, and you know, had this experience with these guys."

Artem added: "I think that's why it's tough to go home because I feel like we've been through so much in these past five weeks, [more] than people get in years."
