Lewis Hamilton doesn't "have time" for romance at the moment.

The Formula One champion's last serious relationship was with his on/off partner Nicole Scherzinger and since their nine-year courtship ended for good in February 2015 he has been linked with a host of beautiful famous women, including Rihanna, Kendall Jenner and Karrueche Tran.

British heartthrob Lewis, 31, is currently at the start of a new F1 motor racing season and is adamant love is just not on his agenda right now.

Speaking to the New York Post newspaper at the Time 100 gala, he said: "I don't have time. I'm the most busy I've ever been. I'm trying to win the championship and travelling like never before ... I think dating and the relationship thing is down the line for me."

Since their break-up, Lewis has had his flirtations with the opposite sex, whereas Nicole, 37, began a relationship with 24-year-old Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov.

However, they split this month due to the sportsman's reluctance to settle down and start a family with the former Pussycat Dolls singer.

As well as his racing career, Lewis is keen to make music and has previously revealed some of his songs are inspired by his romance with Nicole.

He said: "I've been inspired by life - the easy stuff like relationships, that's always easy to talk about, and partying.

"It's not really break-ups or none of that emotional stuff, it's usually fun stuff. It's the good stuff in relationships, the excitement when you're in something new.

"I wish I could release my album this year, but right now I'm focused on working on getting the fourth championship. I hope at some stage people will hear it, but it's not ready yet."
