John Legend hopes his daughter grows up to be "half as awesome" as Chrissy Teigen.

The 'All of Me' singer penned a loving tribute to his spouse - who gave birth to their first child, daughter Luna Simone, on April 14 - on her first Mother's Day on Sunday, while also sharing some sweet new photos of his little girl.

Alongside a photo of the 'Lip Sync Battle' star stroking the foot of the dozing baby, he simply wrote: "Happy Mother's Day!! (sic)"

And he posted another picture, featuring Luna in a white vest bearing the slogan 'Happy 1st Mother's Day' with a big red heart, he wrote: "To my wonderful wife, @chrissyteigen. Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother's Day! (sic)"

Chrissy, 30, has spoken of her love of food on numerous occasions and has even released her own cook books and it seems her Mother's Day was going to involve a lot of eating.

John, 37, posted a photo of her getting busy in the kitchen and wrote: "Making brunch with my favorite mama (sic)"

Chrissy then shared the same photo on her own Instagram page and wrote: "Mother's Day Brunch - low and slow scrambled eggs, chicken and waffles and roasted bacon, oh my! (sic)"

The 'Ordinary People' hitmaker also shared an image of him carrying a huge platter of fried chicken outside and wrote: "Mother's Day chacken (sic)"

Chrissy previously vowed not to keep her daughter off her social media pages because she knows people are interested in her family life.

She said: "I am conscious of what people want to see and what they don't want to see, or what they see through completely.

"We're not going to go out of our way to hide because obviously it's such a big part of our lives to show everything: the inside of our homes, my parents living with us, our animals, everything. I'm not going to do sneaky back shots of her or anything."
