Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are building a lagoon in their backyard.

The couple are currently renovating the Hidden Hills mansion they bought in 2014 for $20 million and have decided to add the water feature to their estate.

A source told US Weekly: "It's for swimming and things of that nature. They removed the old pool that was there, and this will be double the size of the old pool - and an unusual shape."

It was previously revealed that the couple - who have daughter North, two and son Saint, five months, together - are renovating a vineyard on the three-acre property in order to make their own wine. An insider shared: "They consulted experts to get it operable again. Kanye loves wine, and he's really excited about this."

It was claimed earlier this year that Kanye, 38, had fired the contractor working on the mansion after doing a "walk around" with the contractor and being left disappointed that so much work was not done. A source said: "He went around complaining how so many things that were supposed to be done were not. "He fired the contractor and everyone on the property at the time! He's really frustrated that it's taking this long."

Kim, 35, and Kanye purchased their new pad in 2014 but moved in with her mother Kris while renovation work was being carried out on their plush property.

They had also splashed out $11 million on a Bel Air mansion in 2013 but changed their mind about where they wanted to live after deciding to start a family.

Kim previously explained: "When we bought our Bel Air house, we didn't have a baby, we weren't even pregnant. "After you have a baby, you see that you need so many other things and a different kind of space. So being in the city is a different life. We wanted to be away and have more privacy."
