Khloé Kardashian refiled for divorce from Lamar Odom because she wants children.

The 'Keeping Up with The Kardashians' star reportedly chose to finalise her divorce from the basketball star at this moment because she knows the clock is ticking in respect of having a family.

The 31-year-old television personality is said to have told Lamar that she intended to find someone she could settle down and have children with but didn't want it to happen whilst she was still legally married, TMZ reports.

Meanwhile, it was previously claimed that Khloé was "waiting" for the right time to divorce Lamar.

A source shared: "This was always the plan. The divorce has never been officially off. Khloé was waiting for the timing to be right ... She was loyal for a long time and taking care of him, but she's not a babysitter and needs to move on with her life.

"She's honestly fine and it's more of a formality at this point. She's there for him and they're in regular contact and she wishes him well. She'll always be there for him. But as far as their marriage is concerned, that's over and has been for quite some time. It was time to make it official.

"Khloé told Lamar. He wasn't blindsided. He knew it was coming. It was amicable. Khloé cares about Lamar and he'll always be in her life. But there is only so much you can do for a person. You can't help or fix someone who won't fix themselves."

And Khloé also recently admitted she doesn't really believe in divorce but felt it was important for her to end her marriage because she had to put her own happiness first.

She said at the time: "It was a challenge for me when I decided to get divorced. At my core, I don't believe in divorce, but I came to a point in my marriage where I had to make the choice to take care of my own mental and emotional well-being in order to protect myself and my happiness. I am at peace with that decision and do feel like I honoured my vows to the very end."
