Khloé Kardashian was "waiting" for the right time to divorce Lamar Odom.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star refiled for divorce from the basketball star on Thursday 26.05.16 after helping him recover from a drink and drug binge at a Nevada brothel that left him unconscious.

A source said: "This was always the plan. The divorce has never been officially off. Khloé was waiting for the timing to be right."

Whilst another insider added: "She was loyal for a long time and taking care of him, but she's not a babysitter and needs to move on with her life."

And the 31-year-old television personality is said to be "honestly fine" with the split as it is more of a formality than anything else.

The source told PEOPLE magazine: "She's honestly fine and it's more of a formality at this point. She's there for him and they're in regular contact and she wishes him well. She'll always be there for him. But as far as their marriage is concerned, that's over and has been for quite some time. It was time to make it official.

"Khloé told Lamar. He wasn't blindsided. He knew it was coming. It was amicable. Khloé cares about Lamar and he'll always be in her life. But there is only so much you can do for a person. You can't help or fix someone who won't fix themselves."

Meanwhile, Khloé previously admitted she doesn't believe in divorce but felt it was the right thing to do for her own happiness.

She said: "It was a challenge for me when I decided to get divorced. At my core, I don't believe in divorce, but I came to a point in my marriage where I had to make the choice to take care of my own mental and emotional well-being in order to protect myself and my happiness. I am at peace with that decision and do feel like I honoured my vows to the very end."
