Mel B thinks Victoria Beckham may have "secretly" asked for her microphone to be "turned down" when she performed with the Spice Girls.

The 41-year-old star doesn't think her former band mate would have conned fans into thinking she was performing live when, in actual fact, she was miming but has joked there's a possibility Victoria did persuade the crew to lower the volume of her mic instead.

She said: "She wishes it was turned off!

"We sung live, and we wrote and recorded all our music together live and we performed it live. It wasn't turned down. Not that I know of. Maybe she secretly asked for that - I don't know about that."

Meanwhile, Mel also said plans for the girl group to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a reunion tour are "ongoing" although they haven't decided what exactly they'll be doing just yet.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It's an ongoing thing we keep talking about, and it is our 20th anniversary, so we're going to do something.

"We're just trying to figure that out right now. There will be something happening."

However, she has rubbished rumours that the 'Wannabe' hitmakers are going to do a joint tour with Backstreet Boys.

She said: "We want the stage to ourselves if we're going to do it! But, I love the Backstreet Boys. They're great."

Mel's comments come after Victoria - better known as Posh Spice when in the group - admitted she wasn't the best vocalist in group, which also includes Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel C, but thinks she got the "last laugh".

She previously claimed: "They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh - and now my mic is well and truly on, finally."

Meanwhile, it's not sure if all members of the group will be involved in the 20th anniversary celebrations.
