Bobby Brown was introduced to "heavy" drugs by Whitney Houston.

The 'Every Little Step' hitmaker - who was married to the 'I Will Always Love You' singer from 1992 to 2007 - used to smoke weed and drink alcohol with New Edition as a young man but claims he never went onto the harder stuff until he met the late singer.

Speaking to Steve Harvey for the Men of '90s R&B Week, he said: "We did drugs together. There was no introducing her to anything - she already knew what she knew about drugs.

"If you have a lot of money, there's so many things you can do and it's coming at you. You're either going to fall into it or you're not going to fall into it. Unfortunately, we both did."

Meanwhile, the 47-year-old singer previously admitted he and his late ex-wife Whitney failed their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who passed away in 2015 six months after being found unresponsive in a bathtub.

He said: "We could have been better. We should have been better."

And Bobby went on to criticise Nick Gordon, Bobbi's boyfriend.

He added: "It’s not a mystery to me the same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney. There is only one person around both occasions. He knows what happened. I don’t know what happened that night, but he does."

However, Nick denies he was responsible for Bobbi's death and criticised her father for "hurting" her.

He said: "Regardless of what everybody thinks, I made Krissy and Whitney's last few years on earth as happy as they would be. I gave them somebody to trust to, to talk to, to be there, someone genuine.

"Bobby hurt his own daughter, not me. I was the one there for her while she was dealing with him not being there. He's not a reasonable person so I'm not planning on talking to him and I really don't want to."
