Dave Grohl has compared Taylor Swift to Batman

The Foo Fighters frontman was extremely grateful when Taylor came to his rescue at an event where he was asked to play a song after Sir Paul McCartney but was left in a panic as he can't play piano and couldn't use the musician's left-handed equipment.

He said: "Well, I don't know how to play piano. Like, I don't know what to do, man! I can't play piano. And then I look around and Paul McCartney's left-handed, so all the guitars are left-handed. 'S**t! God, I'm screwed! What do I do?' And also, I'd maybe smoked a little pot, so... I was already challenged enough.

"[Then Taylor intervened]. She's like, 'I'll play a song!' It's like, 'Oh, thank god. Taylor Swift's here. Like Batman when you need him.'"

Dave revealed that despite being "super-high", he then took one of Paul's left-handed guitars, explaining: "I'm just trying to figure out how to play along to what she's doing. It was kind of like one of those nightmares where you're running backwards."

However, things got even better when he realised that Taylor was actually playing Foo Fighters' song 'Best of You', allowing him to abandon the guitar and just sing along with her.

Speaking during a performance at the Cannes Lions festival, he said: "And as if I weren't high enough, that blew me into outer space, man!"
