Jermaine Jackson's wife has filed for divorce

The 61-year-old singer's spouse Halima Rashid - who he married in 2004 - cited "irreconcilable differences" in her filing and listed November 28, 2015 as the date of separation, according to TMZ.

She has requested spousal support. In November last year, Halima was arrested on a domestic violence charge amid claims she bit her husband's leg.

She was taken into police custody, charged with felony corporal injury and released on $50,000 bail.

However, the case was dropped because prosecutors couldn't determine who the aggressor in the fight was.

Following the incident, Jermaine insisted he still loved his wife and wanted to work things out.

He said: "It's obvious, I've been with Halima for 11 years, I still love her, things happen. She is still my wife."

Jermaine and Halima met in January 2004 at a Starbucks and were married eight months later.

This is his third marriage, he was previously wed to Motown founder Berry Gordy's daughter, Hazel Gordy, the mother of four of his children.

He has two sons with former partner Margaret Maldonado and has three children with second wife Alejandra Genevieve Oiaza.

Meanwhile, Jermaine's younger sister Janet Jackson is currently pregnant with her and husband Wissam Al Mana's first child and Jermaine thinks she will be a great mother.

He said: "She'll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict.

"But I tell her, 'If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I'm the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day.'..."

But the pregnancy news has been a shock to Jermaine because he still thinks of his little sister as "a baby".

He said: "My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she's having a baby. A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby and now she's grown and having a baby. I'm proud to be an uncle and I can't wait to see how this baby is going to look."
