Nicola Roberts has given up alcohol.

The 30-year-old singer ditched drink in February and whilst she loves to go out partying with her pals, she can't stand going clubbing.

She said: "I gave up alcohol in February. I love to go out to gigs or if a friend is having a party and there's a great DJ playing, but I don't go to clubs - I don't like them."

The Girls Aloud star also admitted she "feels good" when she is able to head out while being make-up free.

She added to OK! magazine: "I like to run. There's something about tying your hair up and wearing no make-up, just moisturiser, then putting on your leggings and going for a run. It makes me feel good."

In 2012, Nicole revealed she used to try to get her hands on alcohol when she was underage to deal with depression.

She previously said: "I would beg my driver to buy me vodka when I was still underage."

The flame-haired beauty was once branded "the ugly one" of the girl band - which also includes Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh - by DJ Chris Moyles on his Radio 1 show.

She said: "Being singled out as 'the ugly one' led to depression. It's funny I was too young for so many things but you thought I'd cope with being told I'm ugly over and over."
