Alex Reid and his fiancée Nikki Manashe are trying for a baby - with the help of "fertility boosting" crystals they have bought from eBay.

The cage fighter - the ex-husband of Katie Price - and the fitness expert have decided to start a family together and to aide their attempts to conceive Nikki is wearing a tumbletstone bracelet and carrying round a "fertility dreamcatcher keyring" which are both said to help a women's body get ready to carry a child.

The keyring costs just £4.99 and the bracelet gift set just £8.99 and the maker Colourful Crystal Creations makes boasts that they can give off energies to aid conception.

The description of what the bracelet and accompanying stones can do reads: " The stones used in this fertility boosting tumbletstone and bracelet gift set have been used over the centuries as stones that are said to help with fertility. The stones in this set are: Rose quartz: helps to stimulate fertility and fill the body with loving energy. Moonstone: helps to enhance fertility conditions. It is also a wonderful stone to carry or wear during pregnancy. Carnelian: which can help to help to improve the conditions for fertility to occur. Rhodonite: this pink and black stone not only stimulates fertility but can help to heal both physical and emotional wounds. A stone of love. Rhodinite can help one achieve their highest potential. It is also excellent for reducing anxiety and stress."

The fertility dreamcatcher keyring is made of the same crystals other rhodonite being replaced with "red and pink tourmaline" which is said to "stimulate fertility" and "treats the reproductive system".

However, both accessories - sold at Stores.ebay.co.uk/colourful-crystal-creations - come with a letter stating for customers to "please note that any information given about gemstones and their properties is for informational purposes only and is not intended to act as a substitute for medical advice".

Alex and Nikki want to have a baby before getting married, and have postponed their nuptials until next year.

Alex, 40, already had a daughter Dolly from his relationship with former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner Chantelle Houghton, which ended in 2012 just a few weeks after the little girl was born on June 17 that year.

Earlier this year, Alex revealed he is £400,000 in debt and is making a return to the MMA ring on the Bellator show at The O2 in London on July 16 to try relaunch his career and beat the depression brought on by his dad Bob's death at the age of 77 last December and the constant attacks by his former spouse Katie which he believes are a bid to "destroy him".
