Britney Spears has slammed the upcoming movie about her life

The 34-year-old singer will be the focus of a new two-hour biopic from Lifetime, which will detail her career and troubled personal life but Britney has insisted that she has not approved it.

Her rep told Us Weekly: "Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic, nor does it have her blessing."

The movie, which will be called 'Britney', will star Natasha Bassett in the title role and is set to tell the "tumultuous true story" of her life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Britney's relationship with Justin Timberlake, her brief marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander, divorce from Kevin Federline, the father of her two sons, Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine, and broken engagement with Jason Trawick, are all expected to be examined in the movie.

Production will begin in Vancouver on September 17th and the movie is set to air next year.

Meanwhile, Britney has revealed that she almost died during a recent trip to Hawaii when she was dragged under huge "six-foot waves".

Recalling the scary event, she said: "I went out and I thought it was like a wave pool, and I was like, 'This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful.'

"But the thing I didn't think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard. I got sucked under for like five minutes. I almost drowned. And I'm like, 'Where is my security? They're just going to let me die here.' And then I came in again and another wave took me under."

In her interview with Scott Mills for his BBC Radio 1 show, the 34-year-old singer also opened up about the music industry, admitting there are a lot of "divas" in the business.

She added: "A lot of the people in the entertainment business, if you try to work with them or set up projects, a lot of times people just don't show up. A lot of people are divas in this industry. It's hard."
